Diamond sales soar at Amazon.com!

May 06, 2008

Seattle—Retail diamond sales at Amazon.com increased more than 100 percent in the first quarter of 2008, the company announced today.

According to the company, diamond pendants, diamond stud earrings and diamond chronograph watches were extremely popular with Amazon customers in the first quarter.

Among the top-selling styles were a 14-karat white gold and diamond Journey "Curve" pendant, princess-cut diamond solitaire rings and 1-carat round-cut diamond stud earrings.

Black-diamond pendants and diamond-accented watches also did very well, as did the Movado Diamond Amorosa watch, the Seiko Coutura watch and the Invicta Limited Edition Diamond chronograph.

"We are very pleased that more and more of our customers are discovering the huge selection and convenience of Amazon.com's Jewelry and Watches store," Amazon.com Jewelry and Watches Store Director Peter Lais said in a media release issued today. "In addition to everyday items like books, electronics, shoes and beauty products, our customers are increasingly purchasing luxury goods, like diamonds, on Amazon.com as well."
